lyrics

Walking down to Hampstead Heath to leave the city behind
To see some grass and find a place to ease my busy mind
I ask the lord to lead me - I'm all out of decisions
A clearing through the bushes and a patch to lay and listen

It's time to stop and and remember why we're here
There's never been a better time of year
Seasons come and seasons pass
But lets flip the hour glass
Lets stop doing more, it may well make us poor
But it's time to take some time

The drone of cars is quiter here
As I sit and watch the planes
There's a stillness I can't find looking through my glass panes
{I}Idle past a guitarist who's thin walls keep him from playing
{He} reminds me to stay thankful instead of judging all these people

[chorus]

I think of all the action that this spots already seen
I'd guess nannies walking dogs and the elderly have been
In the evenings it's the people who make the city run
Jogging round their city to Avicci's number one

[chorus]

Picnics in July, the best time to drink some cider,
Rounders finds it's place again
as I catch the game decider
I go swimming in the ponds alongside my friend the lawyer
Basking in seven degree waters pretending I'm Tom Sawyer

Seems to be a spot for everyone
The escapers/families and the dreamers/sleepers
The fresh air and the trees are the only thing between us

The beauty of the potential
That [remains] while I'm not here
Helps me find perspective
While I'm chasing a career

[chorus]

Don't worry about who's watching, they'll catch on when we're smiling
Let's embrace some silence, ignore the inner violence
